Where are you located?

The clinic is located within Breathe into Motion Yoga Studio on the second floor of the old Hespeler furniture factory.  You will enter through the second common entrance at the junction of the buildings.  Once inside, you will walk up the stairs and through the large open door.  On the right, you will see the back entrance to the yoga studio and the clinic.  Upon entering, follow the grey floor mats down the hall and through the back storage area right into the clinic.

What should I wear to my appointment?

If you have an upper body injury, please wear/bring a tank top so I can access your shoulders and back easily.  If you have a lower body injury, please have shorts available so you are comfortable moving around and I can access your knees and hips.

Do I need to take my shoes off?

Yes, please leave your shoes on the boot mat at the door so we can keep the floor clean for everyone.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

You’ll be asked to fill out a New client information sheet upon arrival.  Following that, a detailed history of your injury will be taken to determine exactly what happened and what your injury could be be before beginning a hands on assessment.  Expect to perform functional activities and to take an active role in your injury assessment when necessary.

Will the assessment and treatment be painful?

We will do our best to keep the assessment as pain free as possible.  You will need to perform some movements with the injured area that may be uncomfortable in the moment, but the goal is to find out what the problem is, not to make it worse!  Treatment should never pass a point of discomfort, so it’s important to let your Athletic Therapist know how you’re feeling about what you’re doing.

Do I need a physician’s referral to make an appointment?

No, you can receive Athletic Therapy treatments without having a physician’s referral, although some insurance companies require you to have one in order to make a claim.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

To save you having to come earlier to your appointment, fill out this New client information sheet at home and bring it with you to your first appointment.
